Craig Courter Joins Perkins Coie as Chief Operating Officer

CHICAGO (July 10, 2007) -- Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Craig Courter has joined the firm as its new chief operating officer. He succeeds Graham Fernald, who recently retired. Courter joins Perkins Coie from Baker & McKenzie, where he served as COO for four years.
A former practicing attorney, Courter has more than 20 years' legal experience in administrative and technology management, including six years' experience in management of Baker & McKenzie, a 10,000-employee global firm. Prior to serving as Baker & McKenzie's COO, he was its Chief Technology Officer.

As COO at Baker & McKenzie, Courter was responsible to the Chairman and the Executive Committee for all aspects of the firm's operations, including benefits, business development, firm meetings, human resources, knowledge management, marketing, professional development, public relations, strategic planning and technology.
Prior to Baker & McKenzie, he worked at Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek, where he served as both a partner and the Chief Information Officer.
